Terms of Use
The terms that govern your use of Mountly.
Last updated: October 15, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and the developer of Mountly (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing or using Mountly (the “App”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. The App and the license
Mountly is a free utility that mounts cloud storage — Amazon S3, Google Drive, FTP and SFTP — as native volumes in the macOS Finder. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on any Apple device that you own or control, in accordance with the App Store's usage rules.
2. Price and availability
The App is provided free of charge, with no subscription and no in-app purchases. We may update the App at any time and may, in the future, change its features or availability. We make no commitment that any particular feature will remain available forever.
3. Your responsibilities
You agree that you will not:
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App;
- use the App to access storage you do not have permission to access;
- redistribute, resell, or sublicense the App;
- use the App in violation of any applicable law or the terms of the storage services you connect to.
You are solely responsible for the credentials you use and for your own accounts with third-party services (such as Google, Amazon Web Services, or your FTP/SFTP hosts). Mountly is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those providers.
4. Intellectual property
The App, including its design, code, name, logo and documentation, is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
5. Third-party services
The App connects to third-party services that are not controlled by us. We are not responsible for the availability, security, or data practices of those services, or for any loss or corruption of data stored with them. Use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF DEFECTS, OR THAT YOUR DATA WILL NOT BE LOST OR CORRUPTED.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE APP — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED ONE EURO (€1).
8. Apple's standard end-user terms
In addition to these Terms, your use of the App is governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, which are available within the App Store. In the event of a conflict, Apple's terms govern with respect to matters they cover.
9. Termination
These Terms remain in effect until terminated by you or us. You may terminate them at any time by deleting the App. We may terminate or suspend your access if you breach these Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of France.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with its effective date.
